Danish star reveals Premier League, Serie A or La Liga ambition.
Christian Eriksen has stated that he would be open to a move to England, Germany, Italy or Spain, but has stressed that he is in no rush to leave Ajax and will only move on at the right moment.
Goal.com recently revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have made an enquiry for the Denmark international, while he has also been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool and several Serie A sides in the past few months.
“I think that my future lies in England, Germany, Italy or Spain. These are the competitions that I like. I will leave Ajax at one point, but I want to leave at the right moment and in the right way,” Eriksen told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I do not know what I will do in a few months’ time yet, but I want to leave my mark before moving on. The Europa League final in our own stadium would be a good opportunity for that.
“I have learned a lot here and I don’t want to leave with empty hands. I want to win something and then move on.”
Eriksen, 20, has a contract with Ajax until June 2014, and he recently told Ajax that he is not currently interested in opening talks over an extension.
Premier League target Christian Eriksen hasn’t exactly narrowed down his options, claiming he wants to move to Italy, England or Spain when he leaves Ajax.
Eriksen is likely to depart Amsterdam sooner rather than later, after refusing to sign a new deal with the Eredivisie Champions.
The talented Dane could now be sold as soon as January, as Ajax look to cash-in on their prize-asset rather than risk losing him for peanuts in a year’s time.
Spurs have been strongly linked with a move for the Denmark international and Andre Villas-Boas’ pursuit of Joao Moutinho does indicated that the North Londoners are seeking a creative midfielder in Eriksen’s mould.
That said, the youngster also has admirers at Old Trafford and the Bernebeu and will have done his chances of a move to one of Europe’s top clubs no harm with his fine performances in the Champions League this season.
But Spurs lured Luka Modric to White Hart Lane against the odds and if Daniel Levy can work some magic and land pass-master Eriksen, Tottenham could have another midfielder maestro on their books.
