Leandro Damiao reportedly staying at Internacional.
Long term Tottenham target Leandro Damiao will not be making a January move according to The Daily Mail.
The Brazilian’s agent has moved to dismiss rumours regarding a move to White Hart Lane this winter.
Spurs are known to have been admirers of the player for some time, and with Emmanuel Adebayor set to join the Togo squad for the African Cup of Nations this month, are short of options up front.
That has led to reports emerging of the North London club having made a £15 million approach for the 23-year old Brazilian but these have been rejected by the player’s agent, Vinicus Prates.
‘I have not received any offers, I can assure you. I don’t think he will leave in January because he is happy at Internacional and under contract until 2015.’
That is unlikely to deter Tottenham however who are keen to add reinforcements to their squad as they push for Champions League football.
Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League table on thirty-nine points, three points clear of Everton in fifth.
That puts them ideally placed going into the second half of the season to secure one of those coveted Champions League qualification spots.
