Gomes set for Hoffenheim switch.
Forgotten Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is set to join Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim on loan for the remainder of the season, Sky Sports News reports.
The Brazilian was included in Spurs’ match-day squad for the first time in nearly a year in Sunday’s shock FA Cup defeat at Elland Road but has not made a single appearance under current boss Andre Villas-Boas.
Although Carlo Cudicini left Spurs for MLS this month, Gomes’ prospects at White Hart Lane still look bleak with France international Hugo Lloris and the evergreen Brad Friedel still on the club’s books.
The 31-year-old former Brazil international, who joined Spurs from PSV in 2008, has made nearly 100 Premier League appearances for the North London outfit but interspersed stunning reflex saves with calamitous errors.
1899 Hoffenheim currently sit second bottom on the Bundesliga and are in danger of being relegated.
The club signed German international keeper Tim Wiese in May.
