2013 Wimbledon men’s singles champion Andy Murray hails the performance of new Arsenal signing against Napoli from Emirates Stadium.
Wimbledon champion Andy Murray was at the Emirates Stadium last night to watch Arsenal defeat Napoli in the UEFA Champions League as he recovers from back surgery.
Goals from Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud in a devastating first half spell sealed the victory, but it was not the £42.5 million German Ozil that stood out for Murray.
Instead, it was fellow summer arrival Mathieu Flamini, brought in on a free transfer from AC Milan, that caught his eye.
Was at arsenal vs Napoli tonight, top performance from arsenal… flamini has been a great signing love his work

It was Flamini’s poked tackle on Marek Hamsik that won the ball for Arsenal’s second goal, and the Frenchman ran 12.9 kilometres throughout the game, showing a brilliant work ethic and keeping Napoli at bay.
As brilliant as Ozil has been, perhaps Flamini has been equally important to the Gunners’ success this season.
