Steelers left to count the cost of the loss with two stars gone for the season.
The Tennessee Titans shocked Ben Roethlisberger and Pittsburgh 16-9, the defeat proving even more costly for the Steelers after injuries to Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey and linebacker Larry Foote.
Pouncey exited in the first quarter and will need surgery to repair two torn right knee ligaments, and Foote will need surgery on a ruptured biceps.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed after the game that Pro Bowl center Pouncey is expected to miss the season with a torn ACL.
Inside linebacker Foote suffered a ruptured biceps and also is expected to miss the year.
