The Colombian’s arrival could very well spell the end of Wayne Rooney as a striker, forcing him to drop a little deeper behind the front two, a position which the player himself has admitted is probably his best role.
Van Gaal handed Rooney the captaincy last month, meaning that he obviously values the 28-year-old and has big plans for him in the upcoming season.
