Essendon verdict: ASADA may appeal AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal’s not guilty decision on 34 Bombers players
With the supplements scandal seemingly now put to bed, the Essendon players can now put all their focus on a mouth-watering clash against the Swans in Sydney.
The Bombers haven’t beaten the Swans since 2011 and there’s no doubt the home side are the clear favourites here. But don’t count Essendon out.
The events of the past week could have the potential to inspire James Hird’s men as they come up against the 2014 grand finalists, and they have the quality to give Sydney some major problems.
Bombers defender Cale Hooker has the unenviable task of keeping star Swans forward Lance Franklin quiet on Saturday, but if he can limit the former Hawthorn man’s influence on the game then Essendon are in with a big shout.
Sydney will still be hurting from their poor grand final outing last September and will come out all guns blazing at home.
Make sure you tune in!
