Spaniard set to move to Liberty Stadium.
Swansea City are closing in on a deal to sign Tottenham winger Iago Falque on loan for the remainder of the season, fanatix has learnt.
The 23-year-old Spaniard is yet to start a game for Spurs this term and boss Andre Villas-Boas has given the youngster to green light to join the high-flying Swans.
Although some details of the deal are yet to be ironed out, Swansea boss Michael Laudrup is confident of including Falque in the squad for the FA Cup third-round replay at Arsenal on Wednesday.
After an initial loan spell, Falque joined the North Londoners permanently from Juventus last January but was immediately farmed out to Southampton on loan.
The midfield failed to impress at St Mary’s and started just one game in six months on the South Coast.
But Villas-Boas believes the former Spain under-21 international, who came through the ranks at Barcelona’s legendary La Masia academy, could still have a future at White Hart Lane and Swansea will not have the option to buy Falque in the summer, should he impress.
Laudrup’s classy Jacks side have gained a number of plaudits so far this season for their fearless of performances and slick passing game and Falque will join talented compatriots Michu, Chico Flores and Pablo Hernadez at the Liberty Stadium, all of whom have stood out under the Dane’s guidance.
