Wenger admits the club are working on some spectacular acquisitions.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that while as yet big names such as Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez haven’t arrived at the Emirates, the club are working on high profile deals.
The Frenchman is keeping his cards extremely close to his chest over the Gunners’ desired signings, but rumours are rife that Higuain and Suarez are the No.1 targets.
“You want me to announce a spectacular signing, but I can’t,” the 63-year-old was quoted by the Mirror.
“We are working behind the scenes to strengthen the squad – but I can’t give you names.”
The north London club are currently touring far-east Asia as they attempt to broaden their fan base and Wenger has been seen to be embracing the culture and having fun with the locals.

However, when it comes to spending Arsenal’s money the manager is extremely serious and with £70m in the kitty, Wenger can pay big fees but will need to do it wisely.
For the first time in several years, fans at the Emirates Stadium will be able to enjoy high profile signings joining the club, rather than ruing the stars being sold.
In the past two seasons Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Alex Song and Robin Van Persie have all left the side, but no such departures are expected this summer.
As yet only French youngster Yaya Sanogo has been signed by Wenger from Auxerre, but the next month-and-a-half could serve as very interesting viewing at Arsenal with big names likely to be arriving imminently.
