Chelsea striker Diego Costa saw his Champions League dream crash in flames on Wednesday night as the west London side exited to a resurgent PSG side. However, what was perhaps more worrying is the fact that he failed to score a single goal in the tournament.
The Spaniard’s red hot form in the Premier League hasn’t translated into European competition, and he has now ended the campaign with less goals in Europe’s premier club tournament than Arsenal’s young striker Yaya Sanogo.
Sanogo, of course, is now on loan with Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace until the end of the season, but found the back of the net during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Greek giants Olympiakos back in November.
Money can buy you a lot of things, but not Champions League goals, apparently.
Yaya Sanogo has scored more Champions League goals than Diego Costa this season.
