It’s perhaps the ‘smallest’ of the nine opening round matches, but the Saints-Giants clash on Easter Sunday could provide one of the most even games of the weekend.
The Saints have endured a tough pre-season dogged by injury and heavy 106-point loss at the hands of Hawthorn in NAB Challenge.
GWS, on the other hand, have shown they have taken some big strides forward with some solid pre-season performances.
The addition of former Western Bulldogs skipper Ryan Griffen looks to have helped provide the young Giants with the experience it needs to turn potential into wins.
Key forward Jeremy Cameron will go into the clash full of confidence after kicking a bag of five goals in his side’s final NAB Challenge match against the Sydney Swans.
The Giants will head into this one as favourites, but you get the sense that the Saints will provide a much stiffer challenge than in years gone by.
Make sure you tune in!
