The St George Illawarra Dragons have seen off the Canberra Raiders by 14 points in Wollongong.
Halves Gareth Widdop and Benji Marshall led the home team to victory with a strong display.
St George Illawarra started the match on fire. First, Widdop scored.
Then Widdop and Marshall combined again to put Jason Nightengale in.
But then Sia Soliola bashed his way over to cut the lead to 12-6.
It was end-to-end stuff and then the Dragons ran 80 metres for their next try.
Just before half-time, an error lead to Shannon Boyd scoring for Canberra.
In the second half the Raiders continued their scoring form. Josh Papalii broke through early.
But everything Canberra could do the Dragons would match. An error gifted Joel Thompson a try.
And then when Marshall scored the scores went to 32-18.
It was too far a mountain for the Raiders to climb.
