Real Madrid are desperate to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan…
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti reckons 22-year-old German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is set to become one of the world’s best central midfielders, and is desperate to secure a deal for him ahead of the Premier League giants, reports the Express.
The Borussia Dortmund German international has been nothing short of sensational for the past two seasons for the Bundesliga runners up, and even bagged the penalty that helped his club get back into the Champions League final against Bayern Munich last May.
Arsenal want to add another world-class German to their contingent, while Manchester United’s new boss David Moyes still feels he needs to strengthen the middle of the park despite the deadline day acquisition of Marouane Fellaini.
Real Madrid are favourites for his signature though, due to the fact that they own Nuri Sahin, who is currently on loan with Dortmund, and could tempt them with a cash plus player deal.
Dortmund will not sell their star midfielder cheaply however, and the La Liga runners up will be expected to pay close to £30m, although a deal could be tied up for closer to £25m if Sahin is allowed to rejoin his former club permanently.
