“Party at the San Paolo” say Gazzetta ahead of friendly.
New Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is set to be greeted by a sold-out San Paolo ahead of his official unveiling by the club on Monday night ahead of the friendly against Galatasaray.
The 25-year-old sealed a €40m move to Italy last week, ending his six-year stint at Real Madrid where he scored 122 goals for the Spanish giants.
Much has been made of his arrival in Naples, with hundreds of fans greeting him at the Fiumicino airport in Rome ahead of his medical with the club.
However, it is understood that 60,000 Napoli supporters will sell-out the San Paolo on Monday night for the Argentinian’s official unveiling by the club according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, ahead of the pre-season friendly with Galatasaray.
Higuain took to Twitter to share an image of him training with his new club but with his former Madrid team-mates Jose Callejon and Raul Albiol, and shared a message with the Napoli supporters.

“Good evening friends. This is a new era for me, I’m very glad I moved to Naples. I hope everything goes well, thank you very much to all,” he wrote.
The presentation will take place prior to the game at 19:00 local time, with Higuain likely to get a few minutes under his belt against the Turkish champions with the game kicking off at 20:45 CET.
Fellow new signing Pepe Reina is unlikely to join him during the game as his move has yet to be made official, while Albiol will also unlikely take part.
The stage is set for a thrilling night at San Paolo with Higuain ready to receive a hero’s welcome, however he will be fully aware of the responsibility that he has ahead of the new season to deliver the goals to help Napoli achieve their ambitions.
