On-loan striker keen to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Romelu Lukaku is ready to turn down the chance of a second season on loan at West Brom in favour of returning to Chelsea to fight for his place.
fanatix tickets – El Clasico tickets are still available for the biggest derby match in Europe.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona tickets are on sale for this massive La Liga clash at the Bernabeu on March 3rd.
Belgian international forward Lukaku was sent to The Hawthorns for the entire season to gain regular first-team football having been a bit-part player following his £18million move to Chelsea from Anderlecht at the start of last season.
When signing for Chelsea, Lukaku was expected to be long-term replacement for Didier Drogba, who left in the summer on a free transfer, but he was sent out on loan despite Fernando Torres being the only striker at Stamford Bridge.
The signing of Demba Ba in January in a £7.5million deal from Newcastle United has put Lukaku further down the pecking order at Chelsea when he does return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and it had been suggested that the 19-year-old striker would stay at West Brom for another year.
But Lukaku, who has scored nine times for West Brom, is intent on returning to Chelsea to prove his worth ahead of the 2013/14 season.
“Yeah, that is the dream. That’s what I signed for Chelsea for,” Lukaku told Sky Sports News. “My aim is to play at the Bridge and to be a legend over there in the future.
“But the time is going so really I need to keep playing. And hopefully in the next few years become one of the key elements at the Bridge.”
Lukaku is not fazed by the prospect of forcing his way past Torres and Ba, plus any new arrivals with Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, and into the first-team frame.
“That’s the thing when you play for Chelsea. They will always sign big players,” he added. “So now it is up to me to show I can go over there and play and do the same as he does now.”
