National Football Post add to mounting problems for Dolphins.
Suspended Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito is alleged to have mocked the ethnic background of a team staff member according to a new report by the National Football Post.
Incognito is currently serving a suspension from the Dolphins after his alleged role in the bullying scandal that has erupted over the past few weeks.
He was suspended on November 3 for conduct detrimental to the team amid accusations that he bullied and used racially charged terms against Jonathan Martin.
While the NFL carry out their investigation into the matter, Incognito has directed his representatives to file a non-football injury grievance against the team for the suspension, although the Dolphins have asked for the hearing to be delayed as the investigators continue their case.
Nevertheless, the latest reports will do little to ease the situation with Incognito now accused of mocking the ethnic background of a team staff member and making crude jokes about the man’s wife.
A Dolphins spokesman has yet to respond to the new accusation, which may well now warrant an additional investigation in the coming days.
While Martin has not returned to the team since leaving last month, Incognito has reportedly been considering his options for his future in the league given the state of his relationship with the Dolphins currently.
Meanwhile, the controversy has had a negative impact on the field too as Miami have struggled in recent weeks, while coach Joe Philbin has been aided by a specially constructed task-force to investigate the locker room culture.
