Former Spurs boss looking for reunion with Tottenham defender.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp is reportedly interested in bringing Tottenham centre-half William Gallas to Loftus Road, according to The London Evening Standard.
The pair have a history together after Redknapp persuaded Gallas to join Spurs after he left bitter London rivals Arsenal in 2010.
The 35 year old former French international’s contract expires in the summer and with Spurs unlikely to offer him a new deal, Gallas may seek to move sooner rather than later.
QPR tried to sign the player during the summer when they were still managed by previous boss, Mark Hughes but were turned down after Younes Kaboul suffered a calf injury.
It now appears Redknapp is set to make a move for the player after finding himself short at the back following the news that captain Ryan Nelsen has agreed a deal to become Toronto FC’s new manager.
Were Gallas to sign, he is likely to find himself lining up against another new arrival at Loftus Road, Tal Ben Haim.
QPR are one of the league’s leakiest sides, having conceded 36 goals in 21 games this season, and Redknapp is eager to shore up the backline as he looks to guide his club to what would be a miraculous recovery were they to avoid relegation.
They are currently rooted to the bottom of the table, five points of Southampton in safety who also have a game in hand.
