The Spanish giants are currently managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, but it is widely expected that the Portuguese manager will leave the club at the end of the season.
Mourinho has reportedly fallen out with a number of key players in the Madrid dressing room, with Spanish newspaper Marca claiming that captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos have threatened to hand in transfer requests should Mourinho remain in charge next season.
Wenger has reportedly been made the top target to replace him. The Frenchman has rejected the overtures of the Spanish club before, but current chairman Florentino Perez is confidant of successfully landing his man this time around.
Arsenal are currently lying sixth in the Premier League and have not won a trophy in over seven seasons. That has led to murmurings of discontent amongst sections on the Arsenal support, with some believing Wenger has taken the club as far he can and that both parties would benefit from going their separate ways.
