The 20-year-old winger has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this month, with Liverpool initially thought to be leading the chase for the youngster.
But with the Reds on the verge on signing Inter Milan’s Philippe Coutinho, Reading had move into poll position for Ince, who has scored 15 goals in just 27 Championship appearances this term.
But Blackpool are refusing to sell the England under-21 international this month and Royals boss Brian McDermott is now likely to turn to other targets ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Ince, the son of Reds and England legend Paul, started his career at Anfield but was deemed not good enough and left Merseyside in 2011 to join the Tangerines.
Reading currently lie 18th spot, just one point off Aston Villa who sit in the safety of 17th in the Premier League.
