Enforcer set for Redknapp reunion.
QPR are set to sign Stoke’s unwanted midfielder Wilson Palacios, according to the player’s father.
Harry’s reunion: QPR v Tottenham Hotspur tickets
Palacios’ father Eulogio is quoted as saying by The Sun: “Wilson is going to join QPR.”
Hoops boss Harry Redknapp made the Honduran one of his first signings when he was appointed Tottenham boss four years ago, paying Wigan £12m for the no-nonsense midfielder.
Palacios was imperious in his first two seasons at White Hart Lane, helping to tougher up Spurs’ soft centre and helping the club to the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2011.
But the midfielder’s form dipped after learning of the tragic death of his brother and the 28-year-old joined Stoke for £6m in summer 2011.
The Honduras international has made just four appearances for Tony Pulis’ side this term and looks set for a reunion with Redknapp.
“Their [QPR’s] manager is interested in signing him once more, as he knows him well. Wilson is going to change clubs as he is not getting games for Stoke,” added Eulogio.
“Their manager puts him on the teamsheet but does not play him.”
