French striker has signed a four and a half year deal.
QPR have confirmed the signing of Loic Remy according to their official club website.
The striker has signed from Ligue 1 side Marseille for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £8 million.
Remy has made 17 starts for the French national side, scoring four goals along the way, had impressed scouts all over Europe with his fine form in previous seasons. His star has fallen recently however after Remy found himself marginalised at Marseille, making just two starts and scoring once this season.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp, who has been following the player since his time as Tottenham manager, will be hoping the player can rediscover his old goal-scoring touch and fire the Loftus Road club out of the relegation zone and into Premier League safety.
‘I’m delighted to bring him in – he’s a great buy for us. I didn’t think we’d get him to be honest but Tony Fernandes worked ever so hard on this. He wouldn’t give up on it, and it’s great that we now have him here with us.’
‘He’s always been a player I’ve admired. I’ve watched him on so many occasions throughout the last few years. I actually spent three or four hours with him last year so he knew what I thought of him, and I think that was important.’
