Midfielder could join former mentor at Loftus Road.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants to sign Tottenham’s Jake Livermore in January, fanatix has learnt.
Redknapp handed the midfielder his debut for Tottenham last season and Livermore went on to make 38 appearances in total for the North London club.
The 23-year-old has since been capped by England but, after a strong start to the season, has found himself on the sidelines at White Hart Lane, with Redknapp’s successor Andre Villas-Boas handing him just 3 league starts this term.
The youngster is currently behind the likes of Moussa Dembele, Sandro and Tom Huddlestone in the pecking order and the return to fitness of Scott Parker, who made his first appearance of the season in Sunday’s win over Swansea, is likely to further limit Livermore’s chances.
Redknapp, who took over as QPR boss last month after being sacked by Tottenham in the summer, is keen to add to his squad in January but is mainly targeting experienced Premier League players, like Liverpool’s Joe Cole and Michael Dawson, also of Spurs.
But the 65-year-old is a big fan of Livermore’s work-rate and attitude and believes the youngster’s commitment could be invaluable in a relegation battle.
It is believed that Villas-Boas is willing to listen to offers around the £5m mark for the midfielder but the Hoops would prefer a loan deal until the end of the current campaign.
