Alves is doing all he can to get Silva to make the switch.
Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has become the latest high profile star to get involved with Thiago Silva’s rumoured move to the Catalans from Paris Saint-Germain.
The centre-back has been strongly linked with a switch to the Nou Camp with the player’s agent Paulo Tonetto urging Barca to make a bid and Silva himself claiming Tito Vilanova tried to sign him last season.
Now Alves, who plays alongside the PSG man in the Brazil back four, has sent out a message to the 28-year-old about why he should come to the Spanish champions.
“Silva would be coming to the best club in the world if he were to join,” the right-back was quoted on goal.com.
“I have described the club to him and told him all the advantages he would find at Barca.
“We need to strengthen the squad considering all the competitions we have to play in.”
It seems like a fairly clear message from the Brazilian to his national team mate and adds fuel to the fire that Silva will be the second PSG ace to make the transfer to Spain – following influential manager Carlo Ancelotti’s switch to Real Madrid.
The Parisians are obviously keen to keep hold of their prized asset however, having signed the defender for a club record £37m fee last summer, and will be doing all they can to keep Silva at the Parc de Princes.
This could be easier said than done however with Alves being involved, as the 30-year-old was one of the key parties in sealing the £48.6m transfer of another Brazilian to Catalonia – Neymar.
