Mega-bucks Ligue 1 side want Arsenal boss as new manager.
PSG are set to test Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s resolve by making him a mega-buck offer to join them and become their new manager according to The Sunday Mirror.
The French club currently lie in 3rd place in the Ligue 1 table, despite a significant summer outlay on new players such as Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The wealthy Qatari owners were expecting a much more dominant performance from the team yet the club look increasingly reliant on Ibrahimovic to win games.
That has prompted the club’s management to look for alternatives to current manager and former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.
They have identified Wenger as their number one choice to lead them to glory in France and Europe. PSG are determined to get their man and are ready to offer the French manager a salary of £10 million a year to secure his signature.
Wenger is known to be keen not to leave Arsenal in the lurch but the blow may be softened by Ancelotti’s willingness to take over the reins at Arsenal should Wenger decide to leave.
The news is likely to split opinion amongst Arsenal fans with half believing that the club and manager could both benefit from a fresh start while the other half is reluctant to even entertain the possibility of life without Arsene.
