The Frenchman takes on a new risque role.
Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has been an actor for over 15 years since retiring as a footballer in 1997 after a hugely successful career.
The Frenchman was praised for roles in both ‘Elizabeth’ and ‘Looking for Eric’ and now the 47-year-old has been cast in an erotic comedy as ‘The Stallion.’
Cantona’s character is invited to an orgy in the film titled ‘Les Rencontres d’après minuit’ (Meetings After Midnight) by a couple and their transvestite maid.
The role is certainly the most left-field that the former footballing great has tackled so far and could raise a few eyebrows.
Cantona of course is best known in England for helping both Leeds United and the Red Devils to domestic glory.
The former forward remains the only player in English history to have won successive league titles with two different clubs and picked up four Premier League medals whilst at Old Trafford.
Cantona did also have a controversial side as well as one of pure talent, for example the eight-month ban the attacker received for the now infamous kung-fu kick on a Crystal Palace fan.
The French ace was also known for a bit of philosophising as well, famously stating that ‘when seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.’
We’re all looking forward to seeing Cantona in this latest flick.
