Port Adelaide expect defender Tom Jonas to overcome a thigh injury and be fit to play against Hawthorn in Saturday’s preliminary final.
Jonas suffered a corked thigh and was substituted during the Power’s semi-final win over Fremantle in Perth on Saturday night.
However, Port Adelaide high performance manager Darren Burgess told the club’s website that Jonas should be fine to take on the Hawks in a match that will hand the winner a spot in the Grand Final.
“Tommy’s corkie was enough to make the call on the sub, we felt he wouldn’t be able to compete as we would have needed him to for the rest of the game,” Burgess said.
“But we’re really positive about his outlook for this week. We would expect him to get through training and put his hand up for selection.”
