Paulo Dybala will officially be heading to Juventus on a five-year contract, and he is expected to sign with them on a £32m transfer deal.
The 21-year-old striker will be leaving Palermo, whom he scored 13 goals for in Serie A matches while also compiling 10 assists.
The Argentine international scored a total of 21 goals in 90 appearances since joining Palermo in 2012.
Dybala figures to have an extremely promising career, as he was instantly able to make a scoring impact for Palermo despite being only 21 years old.
His fantastic 2014-15 season caused Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini to make a bold prediction for the young star.
“Within two years, he’s going to be better than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It would take 40 million euros to take him away from us. He’s the best striker in Serie A,” Zamparini said to ESPN FC.
While this may seem like an outlandish prediction, Dybala entering his prime is sure to make opposing teams concerned whenever they play Juventus.
Juventus is currently going for the Champions League title after being crowned Serie A champions, but they will be underdogs against La Liga champions Barcelona.
If Zamparini’s bold claim is even half-true though, signing Dybala may be enough to give Juventus a squad that can be superior to Barcelona.
