Newcastle manager admits summer transfer failures.
Newcastle manager has admitted he would like things to have gone differently during the previous summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT.
The Magpies boss has expressed is dismay with the clubs recent form.
He reportedly now claims he realises he should have brought more players in to strengthen his Newcastle side during the last transfer window.
Newcastle are on a poor run of form having lost eleven times in their least fourteen games and Pardew is keen for the club to start turning those results around.
While injuries have played a role in their slide down the table, they cannot be solely blamed for campaign which sees them sitting in 15th going into the New Year.
It has been a somewhat surprising fall for the North-East club after they beat the likes of Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool to a lofty 5th-placed position on their return to top flight football last season.
‘I never thought we would be in the position we’re in here. We’ve been terribly unlucky but also we do hold our hands up – we should have brought in one or two more players to give us cover but we’ve not hidden that. We’ve openly said that and [we’re] really paying the price now.’
‘But the window is open and it gives us an opportunity, hopefully, to strengthen the squad. It’s difficult to get transfers in in this window but we’re going to have to do to get Newcastle across the line’.
