Both Pakistan and South Africa will be wanting to get their Champions Trophy tournament back on track today after losses in their opening Group B matches.

The Proteas were defeated at the hands of India by 26 runs, whilst the Pakistanis lost to competition outsiders West Indies in a low scoring but tense affair.

With only three games played in total to see who will progress to the knock-out stages the loser of this match will be out of the race for the trophy with one fixture still to spare.

South Africa have injury concerns in their bowling attack with Morne Morkel having to fly home with fitness issues and Dale Steyn still a doubt to play, having missed the opening match.

Pakistan meanwhile will hope their batting order can take advantage of the usually strong South African line-up facing some issues, with Misbah-Ul-Haq the only man in the top order to make much of an impression against the West Indians – scoring 96 not-out.

These two opponents know each other well having played out a thrilling one-day series back in March, with South Africa eventually taking the plaudits after winning the fifth ODI to take the series 3-2.

Captain AB de Villiers was the maestro for the side back then and following a strong IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore the batsman is in good form and will be wanting to transfer that to the Champions Trophy.
