The Oklahoma City Thunder will look to extend their winning streak when they travel to the Barclays Center to face the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night.
Kevin Durant and the Thunder arrive off the back of their dazzling performance against the Miami Heat on Wednesday, and will look to make it 10 straight wins with Durant aiming for 12 games with at least 30 points.
However, the Nets are looking to end with the NBA’s best record in January and improve on their 20-23 record for the season, while Oklahoma City (37-10) will be looking to stretch their lead at the top of the Western Conference.
Brooklyn are just one of two Eastern Conference teams to have beaten the Thunder this season, however OKC are 8-0 on the road against East opponents, and are averaging 109.1 points per game while shooting 51.3 percent.
That would all suggest another win for the Thunder, but with Paul Pierce firing last time out against the Toronto Raptors and Deron Williams working his way back to full fitness, the hosts will be hoping to pull off something of an upset.
In addition, Joe Johnson will be looking to follow up his buzzer-beating winner against his next opponent after their 95-93 win last time round, while Jason Kidd will have to formulate a strategy to restrict Durant who had just 24 points in that last meeting.
The likes of Reggie Jackson, Derek Fisher and Serge Ibaka will all be expected to influence the game as point guard Russell Westbrook continues to sit out, but considering their recent form they have proven that they don’t miss him quite as much as many expected.
