Canaries looking to bring Hooper to Carrow Road.
Norwich City are looking to bring in Celtic striker Gary Hooper according to The Guardian.
The Canaries are looking for reinforcements up front and have identified as Hooper as the man capable of providing them with goals on a regular basis.
The English forward has excelled since joining the Scottish giants in 2010, hitting the back of the net 53 times in 80 appearances.
That has sparked the interest of a number of clubs, including Liverpool but with Brendan Rodgers’ side having recently acquired Daniel Sturridge, it appears that path has been cleared for the Norfolk club to make an approach.
Canaries manager Chris Houghton spoke of the club’s need for attacking reinforcements after his side’s 0-0 draw with the Canaries boss’ former club Newcastle.
‘We’re looking to strengthen full stop but it’s quite obvious we’d like to score more goals. But it’s a very difficult time to be sure whoever you bring in will add to the quality of the squad and you’re not paying more than they’re worth.’
City put a run of four straight defeats to an end with the draw against the Magpies and will now be looking to recapture the form that saw them go ten games unbeaten earlier in the season.
