As a result of his actions, Jackson will be subject to discipline by the NFL personal conduct policy if he is charged with any crimes. The penalties could range from fines to suspensions under the current policy.
One of the key figures in DeflateGate, during the AFC Championship Game between the Colts and New England Patriots, D’Qwell Jackson intercepted a pass from QB Tom Brady football then allegedly told the team that the ball felt “off.” The ball was revealed to be improperly inflated, which in turn became a piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation as to whether the Patriots intentionally deflated footballs below NFL regulations to gain a competitive advantage.
Jackson would later deny noticing anything strange about the football.
The Patriots would go on to win the AFC Championship Game game and later the Super Bowl.
