Cornerback set to miss game with hamstring strain.
It appears unlikely that San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers will play Sunday in the divisional playoffs against the Carolina Panthers.
Rogers was sidelined the entire week of practice with a hamstring injury that kept him out of last week’s wild-card win over Green Bay. He originally suffered the injury in the regular-season finale at Arizona.
On Thursday, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Rogers would have to practice if he wanted to play against the Panthers.
“I don’t know what the percentages are; I suppose there is a chance,” coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday about Rogers playing. “He will be questionable for this game.”
Perrish Cox, who filled Rogers’ nickel spot at Green Bay, is expected to play again Sunday.
