Brazilian starlet gives hope to top clubs.
Brazilian starlet Neymar has given hope to a host of top European clubs looking to seal his signature by denying he has agreed a deal with Barcelona according to The Daily Mail.
The Santos striker is one of the world’s hottest properties right now with scouts from almost all the top European clubs keeping tabs on the player.
Reports had emerged that the wonderkid had already agreed a deal to move to Barcelona but Neymar has moved to pour cold water on the rumours.
‘I have no agreement with Barcelona or anyone else. The only thing I have signed is with Santos, and I’m happy. They’re a big club who whom I’m under contract until 2014. The most important thing is to be happy, and I’m with my family. My objective is to help Santos and Brazil and the best will come with hard work.’
The player was speaking after winning Uruguayan newspaper El Pais’ King of South American Football award in Montevideo.
Neymar is widely tipped to become of the best footballers on the world stage. There is a growing movement in Brazil that is calling for efforts to be made to keep the player in the country, at least until the end of the World Cup in 2014, so any prospective move may have to be delayed until then.
