Gouffran one of four French players set to join Newcastle this week.
Newcastle have agreed a fee with Bordeaux for French forward Yoan Gouffran, Sky Sports understands.
Newcastle vs Liverpool tickets are now available for the clash at St James’ Park on 27 April!
Gouffran, 26, will now travel to St James’ Park for a medical and the versatile star could be one of four Frenchman to join the Toon this week.
Montpellier have already announced that 22-year-old centre-half Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is en route to Newcastle for a medical ahead of a £7m move, while left-back Massadio Haidara, 20, is set to sign from Nancy, subject to passing a medical.
Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is also on Magpies boss Alan Pardew’s radar and the France international could join his compatriots in the North East before the end of the month.
Gouffran is out of contract at Bordeaux in the summer and Newcastle are believed to have agreed a fee of around £1m with the French side.
Like Loic Remy, who rejected Newcastle in favour of QPR, Gouffran can play on the right wing or as a central striker, and the former France under-21 international has bagged 10 goals in 23 appearances this term.
