The Belgian began to believe the Red Devils wouldn’t make their move.
Marouane Fellaini has spoken to the press ahead of the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace, with the midfielder having made a £27.5m move from Everton on transfer deadline day.
The Belgium international admitted that the 25-year-old thought the deal to move to Old Trafford would never happen, but is extremely glad it did.
Fellaini: “Sometimes I thought there was no chance [of the transfer happening] but in the end I was so happy to join United.” #mufc

Fellaini: “I need to work hard for my place – there are a lot of good players here. I need to show my ability. I’ll keep focused.” #mufc

New manager David Moyes has nothing but praise for the Belgian – which is unsurprising considering this is the second time the Scot has bought Fellaini.
Moyes: “Every time I see Belgium play, they talk about this great team, but I always come away thinking Fellaini is the best player.” #mufc

Moyes: “Fellaini can do several different jobs, score goals and is effective in different areas. I hope he can continue to improve.” #mufc

Moyes: “Fellaini’s presence is very noticeable for many reasons, including his size. But you can’t overlook his technical ability.” #mufc

With players such as Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany in the Belgian national team it is a big call from Moyes to say Fellaini is the best the country has to offer.
Many United fans are disillusioned with the way the Glaswegian and new chief executive Ed Woodward dealt with transfers this summer and the midfielder will have to win the support over first.
