Chelsea’s maverick manager Jose Mourinho has made some strange comments ahead of his side’s fixture with Fulham, BBC Sport reports.
Ahead of the 3pm clash between the sides this Saturday afternoon, Mourinho has claimed that he wouldn’t mind losing to the Cottagers, so long as team win the next ten matches and secure the Premier League title!
“I would take defeat [if it helps Fulham stay up], then 10 victories [for Chelsea] and the [league] title,” said the Portuguese.
“I’d like the London teams to stay up. I have that emotional connection with Fulham, our neighbours and our rivals,” he continued.
“Rivals need each other. It is good for everybody, so hopefully they can keep their place in the division, but we have to try [and beat them].”
The Blues currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of Arsenal, with Manchester City and Liverpool also breathing down their necks. They are expected to comfortably beat relegation threatened Fulham, although did play a Champions League fixture against Galatasaray midweek which could leave some players jaded.
Here’s how we think the Blues will line up against Fulham today.
