The NFL comes to London this weekend as the Miami Dolphins are set to square off with the Oakland Raiders at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
In the first of three International Series games to take place at Wembley this season, the Raiders in particular will be hoping that a change of scenery will be a boost for them after a lacklustre start to the campaign.
Another loss on Sunday would result in their third 0-4 start to the season since joining the NFL and it would also be a 10th consecutive defeat. However, they will take heart from their performance against the New England Patriots last weekend.
The Raiders looked competitive in the 16-9 loss with arguably one of the favourites in the AFC, but they are still averaging a league-low 12.3 points and 245.3 yards with quarterback Derek Carr.
Maurice Jones-Drew will hope to return after missing two games with a right hand injury, and it will be a new experience for the running back after he played in London with the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins aren’t faring too much better at this point, as they have dropped two consecutive games since their season-opening win over the Patriots.
Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has one of the lowest passer ratings in the league heading into Sunday’s clash, while he also has one of the lowest completion percentages and hasn’t topped 250 yards in any of his first three games.
Coach Joe Philbin insists that his team “must play better” but he wouldn’t confirm whether or not Tannehill would start against the Raiders.
Nevertheless, Miami have won 10 of 11 over the Raiders, and they will be confident that they will head into the game better prepared than their rivals.
