After a nightmare of a debut season with Liverpool, Mario Balotelli looked almost certain for a transfer away from Anfield this summer.
However, the Liverpool Echo report that the former Manchester City striker, who has scored just one goal in 16 Premier League appearances since his £16m move from AC Milan in August, is going nowhere.
If the respected local newspaper are right, Liverpool fans must be gutted that they are stuck with Balotelli.
However, they are not alone. Here are five other players who clubs would like to get rid of but are struggling to move out the door…
5. Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur)
Spurs tried to offload the troubled Togolese in January, but none of the clubs bidding for him on loan were willing to pay his sickeningly-huge wages in full. It seems Tottenham may be lumbered with Adebayor until his contract expires next summer.
