Marco Reus’ representatives yesterday revealed that their client is flattered by interest this summer, but insisted that he remains happy with Borussia Dortmund – and isn’t looking to move on.
Arsenal, the Metro report, are prepared to break their transfer record with a £48m bid for the Germany international – which would surpass the £42.4m paid to Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil two years ago.
Arsene Wenger is said to be after two more ‘exceptional’ players – and Reus could be a major target.
Liverpool and Real Madrid have also been linked to his name; however, the Gunners looked to be the favourites to make an official offer.
With Reus’ international team-mates Ozil and Per Mertesacker at the Emirates, the duo could encourage him to swap the Westfalenstadion for the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are certainly the team to watch out for in the summer market.
