City duo under the spotlight after poor display.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini and team captain Vincent Kompany’s futures at the club are in serious doubt, according to the Daily Mirror.
Pellegrini had been set a target of reaching the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League after a poor showing last term, but that target now looks unlikely to be met after defeat to Barcelona this week.
City lost 2-1 at home to the Catalan giants, leaving them a mountain to climb in the second leg at the Nou Camp.
Kompany, meanwhile, put in a poor performance in the game and his future as a regular starter in defence as well as the holder of the captain’s armband is sure to come under further scrutiny.
