Amazing revelation from Falcao’s dad.
Manchester United’s on-loan Colombian striker Radamel Falcao’s great-grandfather was from Yorkshire and the player could have qualified for England, according to the Daily Mail.
The 28-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best centre-forwards in world football at the moment after years of fine form for top clubs such as Porto, Atletico Madrid and AS Monaco.
Now at Old Trafford, Falcao has roots in the north of England, according to claims by his father in this extraordinary interview.
“I’m proud of my English blood,” his father is quoted as saying. “My grandfather was English and also a sportsman.
“He was probably about 13 so I went down to the embassy thinking that a British passport would help him with a move to Europe. Unfortunately it got rejected.”
