Rossoneri want Nemanja Vidic at the San Siro.
AC Milan are keen to sign Manchester United centre-half Nemanja Vidic, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Serie A giants believe the Serbian would be the ideal partner for France international Philippe Mexes and are willing to test the resolve of new United boss David Moyes to keep the 31-year-old.
Vidic has been a huge success for the Red Devils since arriving from Spartak Moscow in 2006 but the Serbia international has suffered a succession of injuries in recent seasons.
The uncompromising defender played just 23 times last season, and saw the campaign before last cut short in the December by a serious knee complaint.
United are reportedly closing in on Benfica’s Argentina international Ezequiel Garay, 26, and Milan hope the former Real Madrid star’s arrival will help persuade Moyes to sell Vidic.
Vidic has made over 264 appearances for United but faces competition for a spot in Moyes’ first team with the likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans next term.
