Manchester United have been linked with a surprise move for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen if David de Gea leaves the club to join Real Madrid, according to the Daily Express.

The 22-year-old German is rated as one of the most promising young shot-stoppers in Europe, and only joined Barca in a £10m deal this summer, though he has struggled for games at the Nou Camp.
Luis Enrique also signed Claudio Bravo as the club lost both Victor Valdes and Jose Pinto at the end of last season, and the Chilean has kept ter Stegen out of the team so far.
This has alerted United as they may need to make a top class signing in goal as de Gea continues to attract strong interest from the Bernabeu.
