Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria could be heading to the Premier League…
Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG will all battle to sign Real Madrid’s Argentinian winger Angel Di Maria, reports Spanish football publication Marca.
The three European giants are chasing the world-class 25-year-old who might become available if Los Blancos land Tottenham’s Welsh superstar Gareth Bale.
A move is drawing ever closer, and the La Liga club have even erected a platform in the Bernabeu to introduce their imminent world record signing.
Angel Di Maria has been at Madrid since his €25m move from Benfica in 2010, and has performed consistently well ever since. Last season the winger bagged nine goals and 17 assists, and is seen by many as a crucial part of the Spanish giants’ attacking strategy.
If Bale signs though, Di Maria could become surplus to requirements, and three European giants are ready to snap him up.
With an asking price of £34m touted, United, Arsenal and PSG are all very interested.
With their unrivalled wealth, a mega money deal for Di Maria would be a drop in the ocean for PSG. Having already signed Edinson Cavani this summer though, and with Zlatan Ibrahmiovich, Lucas Moura and Ezequiel Lavezzi filling up the attacking positions, a move seems unnecessary, but not unlikely.
United and Arsenal on the other hand are desperate to bring in a marquee signing having failed to so far this summer. The former has missed out on Cesc Fabregas and Thiago, while the latter has chased Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez without any luck.
Di Maria would be a fantastic capture for either of these sides, and Madrid could well be keen to sell after shelling out an expected £93m for Bale.
