The starting XIs have been confirmed ahead of the first match of the 2015-16 Premier League season – Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur.
United boss Louis van Gaal has stuck to his word and left star goalkeeper David de Gea out of his team due to ‘distracting’ transfer speculation linking him with Real Madrid.
De Gea’s omission means that new signing Sergio Romero starts between the sticks. He is one of four players to make their United debuts from the start – along with Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian.

The man who many people expect to replace De Gea as United’s no.1 one – Hugo Lloris – misses out for Spurs, as Michel Vorm gets the nod due to the Frenchman’s wrist injury. However, Lloris is on the bench.
Fellow United transfer target Harry Kane lines up for the visitors, who hand a debut to Toby Alderweireld.
