Van Gaal has reportedly instructed United bosses to do everything in their power to land the former Chelsea star after he played a major role in Bayern’s return to dominance in Europe recently.
And because of that, the German giants have no intention of letting their prize asset depart in the near future, despite the fact that he is approaching his 31st birthday.
But they could very well change their mind should Robben declare publicly that he wants to move on.
Van Gaal relied heavily on Robben during the World Cup when the pair world together with the Dutch national side and is hopeful a £24m deal can be agreed in order to bring him on board in January.
