Manchester City and Chelsea target set to leave Napoli
The agent of Napoli’s Uruguayan star Edinson Cavani has attracted the attention of a host of top European clubs after revealing the striker is likely to leave his club Napoli in the summer, according to The Sun.
Mino Raiola is quoted as saying: ‘For now Cavani will stay but I wouldn’t be so sure about that once June arrives.’
The player is likely to have no shortage of suitors with Real Madrid, Barcelona and free-spending Paris St Germain keen on adding to the player to their squads.
Manchester City and Chelsea however will be looking to tempt the player into coming to England.
One potential stumbling block is the player’s release clause of £51 million and with Napoli keen to hold on to their star player, it is unlikely they will accept a bid to far below that valuation.
That will be unlikely to prove much of a deterrent though after the player continues to set Serie A alight, hitting the net 13 times in just 15 appearances this season.
While Napoli currently sit fifth in Serie A, just one point off the Champions League positions, it is considered only a matter of time before Cavani moves on to a club capable of challenging for the game’s highest honours.
