AC Milan link is ‘just speculation’ says City’s assistant manager.
Mario Balotelli is not on the verge of leaving Manchester City for Italian giants AC Milan, according to the Premier League club’s assistant manager David Platt.
Reports had suggested that the controversial striker held a leaving party with City teammates on Sunday night because he is on the verge of joining boyhood heroes Milan.
But the 22-year-old, formerly of Milan’s city rivals Internazionale, arrived for training as usual on Monday and Platt insists he is still very much a City player.
“I’ve not heard anything and to be honest it just seems like speculation,” the former England midfielder is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“As far as we are concerned, he’s still a Manchester City player. I don’t think there’s anything that could happen
“I can only go off what you know and what I’ve seen, which seems to be speculation.”
Manchester City vs Liverpool tickets are still available for the huge clash at the Etihad Stadium on 3 February!
Platt claimed that Balotelli, who has made just seven Premier League starts all season, will travel with the rest of the squad to London for Tuesday’s clash with QPR, after recovering from illness.
“He was back on the training pitch yesterday morning, so he’s fine,” said Platt. “He’s in the squad for tomorrow.
“It was only a 24-hour virus, which he had, and he will be available for selection tomorrow.”
