An XI made up of near-misses in the transfer market for Arsenal.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has today revealed that his biggest regret is not signing Cristiano Ronaldo when he had the chance. The Portuguese superstar went on to enjoy a superb career at Manchester United and later Real Madrid, playing a key role in guiding both to glory in the Champions League.

Linked with Arsenal shortly before he signed for Chelsea, Petr Cech is now only a backup goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge, but has been one of the best players in the Premier League for much of the last decade, and probably still better than either of Arsenal’s options in goal.
